AIRSHOW APPEARANCES

Since 1994 (in our previous entities) the aircraft under our control have been available for airshow appearances.

1998 saw Peter Hellier's Hunter F.6A XF516 airworthy after a long term rebuild. This aircraft has brought a sound to the UK airshow scene that had not been heard since the 1980s. 2001 was also a great year for us, it saw us successfully re-enact the first flight of the Hunter from Boscombe Down with our 'prototype' P.1067 WB188, and supply 4 aircraft out of the 15-ship that flew at Kemble. Finally as a part of the multi-national Hunter team, we won the King Hussein Memorial Sword at RIAT.

Despite the devastating blow of losing our flagship aircraft, Hunter F6A XF516 in June 2003, we went on to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Neville Duke achieving the world speed record of 727 mph on 7th September 1953. Hunter WV322 re-enacted the record breaking flight along the south coast of England on the same day, 50 years later.
2005 marked the debut season of Hunter FGA.9 XE601 G-ETPS, and thanks to its Blue Note and of course our skilled pilots it has established itself as a popular item on the airshow circuit.

For 2008, Hunter Flying Ltd currently have a selection of aircraft available for airshow appearances and flypasts, and we pride ourselves on being able to supply aeroplanes in any form that you may require.
We hope to offer the following aircraft, subject to serviceability...

  • Hunter FGA.9 XE601 - G-ETPS
Owned by Skyblue Aviation Ltd, XE601 is the last FGA.9 left flying anywhere in the world.
Wearing its Boscombe Down 'Raspberry Ripple' colours, it is capable of emulating the classic Blue Note.

Skyblue Aviation’s gorgeous Beech 18 G-BKGM will, in most circumstances, accompany XE601 to any event. This will act as a support aircraft, but can also be used as a display aircraft in its own right.

  • Hunter T.8B WV322 - G-BZSE
Painted in RAF camouflage and owned by a syndicate. the Hunter T8B was used as a Buccaneer procedures trainer and carries the emblem of 229OCU proudly on its spine.
WV322 is available in association with Towerdrive 2000.

  • Hunter T.7 XL573 - G-BVGH
Active On the airshow circuit since 1994, XL573 wears authentic RAF 12 Squadron markings adopted for their 90th Anniversary in 2005.
owned by Global Aviation, the aeroplane is airworthy again after deep maintenance and could be part of a display package that may include a BAC Strikemaster.

  • Hunter PR.11 WT723 - G-PRII
The oldest Hunter left flying worldwide, WT723 is also the only surviving PR.11 variant left in existence.

  • Hunter T.7 G-VETA - (XL600)
Currently owned by Skyblue Aviation, G-VETA is painted in an attractive Blue and Gold corporate scheme, and is available for both static and display use.

  • Hunter GA.11 XE685 - G-GAII
XE685 is the only Hunter GA.11 flying in Europe. Wearing authentic Royal Navy markings, it is an ideal representative of the Hawker Hunter's often overlooked history in Fleet Air Arm service that spanned over 35 years.
